Not cooling evenly
LG French-door and side-by-side models use Linear Compressor technology. When the linear compressor begins to fail or the evaporator fan motor wears out, the fridge stops maintaining even temperature — the freezer stays cold but the fridge section warms noticeably.
Water pooling on the floor or under the crisper
LG refrigerators with the ice maker and water dispenser are prone to water inlet valve leaks or a cracked water line. Pooling under the crisper drawers usually points to a blocked defrost drain — a clog that sends melt water forward instead of into the drain pan below.
Ice maker not producing ice
LG InstaView and French-door models with Craft Ice makers are particularly prone to ice maker failures. The fill tube can freeze, the inlet valve can fail, or the ice maker assembly itself burns out. LG ice maker issues are among the most reported faults on these models.
Error codes: Er IF, Er FF, Er rS

LE is one of the most common LG washer error codes. It means the direct drive motor is overloaded or the Hall sensor has failed. LG washers use a direct drive motor with no belt — the Hall sensor monitors the rotor position and stops the machine if rotation is abnormal.
OE error — not draining
OE is LG's drain error and one of the most commonly searched LG washer codes. It means the machine failed to drain within the expected time. The pump filter is the first place to check — LG front-loaders clog regularly with lint, coins and fabric debris.
Leaking from the door or dispenser
LG front-load washers can develop leaks at the door gasket or from the detergent dispenser drawer. The gasket inner fold traps moisture and mould that accelerates deterioration. Dispenser leaks usually point to blocked soap channels causing overflow.
UE error — unbalanced load or excessive vibration
UE means unbalanced load. LG washers will attempt to redistribute the load automatically, but if the drum bearing or shock absorbers have worn, the machine will vibrate heavily even on balanced loads and trigger UE repeatedly.

LG electric dryers most commonly lose heat due to a failed heating element or blown thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is a one-time safety device that trips when the dryer overheats — usually because of a blocked exhaust vent rather than a fault in the dryer itself.
d80, d90, d95 error — exhaust restriction
These codes are unique to LG dryers and indicate the exhaust duct is 80%, 90% or 95% blocked. LG is one of the few brands that actively monitors duct airflow and alerts you before the thermal fuse blows. Most owners don't realise this until the code appears.
Squealing or rumbling during the cycle
LG dryers use drum support rollers and a drive belt to rotate the drum. When the rollers flatten from wear, they create a rhythmic thumping. A worn or cracked belt produces a high-pitched squeal that gets louder over time. Both worsen with heat.
Dryer stops early or runs too long
LG sensor dry cycles rely on two moisture sensor bars inside the drum. Fabric softener sheet residue coats the bars over time, causing the dryer to misread moisture levels and end cycles too early — or run indefinitely without detecting dryness.

OE error — not draining
OE on LG dishwashers means the water didn't drain within the expected time. LG QuadWash models have a fine mesh filter that clogs faster than standard filters due to the high-pressure spray pattern. Most OE errors are filter-related rather than pump failures.
Dishes not clean — QuadWash arm blocked
LG QuadWash models use four spray arms for full coverage. The upper and lower arms can both clog with mineral scale in areas with hard water — when one arm is blocked, coverage drops and dishes on that rack come out dirty despite a full cycle.
Leaking from the door
LG dishwasher door gaskets can harden and compress after a few years, allowing water to escape during the wash cycle. The leak typically appears at the bottom corners of the door first — where the gasket takes the most stress from the door opening and closing.
AE error — leak detected in base
AE is LG's leak sensor error. A float switch in the base pan triggers when water accumulates — even from a small internal drip. The machine stops and won't restart until the pan is dry. The source can be the door gasket, pump, or water inlet valve.

Burner won't ignite — clicks but no flame
LG gas ranges use sealed burners with electronic igniters. Food debris and moisture around the igniter electrode are the most common causes of ignition failure. LG's EasyClean burner design makes it easier to reseat caps incorrectly after cleaning — a slightly off-centre cap is often the only problem.
Induction or glass-top zone not heating
LG induction cooktops use individual coils per zone — when a coil fails, that zone stops heating entirely with no visual indication. On glass-top electric models, the surface element or the infinite switch that controls its power can fail independently.
F-series error codes on the display
LG ranges display F1 through F9 error codes for different faults: F3 means an oven sensor issue, F5 is a door lock problem, F7 indicates a stuck key on the control panel. Each code points to a specific component rather than a general board failure.
Continuous clicking when burners are off
Continuous igniter clicking on LG gas ranges almost always means moisture in the igniter assembly — from a boil-over, cleaning with too much water, or high humidity. The spark module sends current continuously when it senses moisture on the electrode.

Oven not reaching temperature
LG electric ovens most commonly fail at the bake element or the oven temperature sensor. LG's ProBake Convection models move the heating element to the rear wall — when it fails, the oven heats unevenly from the back only or stops heating altogether.
Uneven baking — hot spots or undercooked results
LG ProBake Convection ovens can develop uneven heat distribution when the rear convection element fails partially — some zones heat correctly while others don't. A faulty sensor can also cause temperature drift of 30–50°F without showing any error code.
F3 or F9 error — sensor or door lock fault
F3 on LG ovens means the oven temperature sensor is open or shorted. F9 indicates the door lock mechanism has failed — usually triggered after a self-clean cycle where the latch motor overheats. Both prevent the oven from operating safely.
Door not sealing — heat escaping around the frame
LG oven door gaskets can harden and pull away from the frame over time. On models used frequently for high-temperature cooking or self-clean cycles, the gasket deteriorates faster. Heat escaping around the door raises cooking times and wastes energy.
