Terms and Conditions

Bluenose Appliance Repair · Last updated: June 2026

1. Coverage Period

Coverage begins 5 days after enrollment and remains in effect for one year. Plans renew automatically on the anniversary date unless either party provides notice of cancellation before that date.

2. Eligible Properties

Coverage applies to single-family residences only — houses, townhouses, condominiums, apartments, modular or manufactured homes anchored to a permanent foundation. Commercial properties, businesses operating from residential addresses, and shared systems in multi-unit buildings are not covered.

3. Cancellation

Bluenose Appliance Repair may cancel your plan at any time. If cancelled by us on a pre-paid lump-sum plan, a pro-rata refund will be issued. If you cancel before your anniversary date on an installment plan, the remaining balance becomes due. We will complete any covered work for which you notified us before the cancellation date.

Cancellation within 10 days with no service used: full refund. Cancellation within 10 days after service: plan cancelled, service cost billed.

4. Moving

If you move within our service area, your plan can be transferred to your new address. Contact us at least 30 days before your move. If your new address is outside our service area, the plan will be cancelled and remaining installments become due.

5. Diagnosis & Warranty

We aim to diagnose and repair on the first visit, but this is not always possible. Bluenose Appliance Repair is not liable for losses from misdiagnosis or delays. If a repair fails or a replacement part is defective, our sole obligation is to correct the problem and replace the part.

All parts and labour must be provided by a Bluenose Appliance Repair authorized technician. We do not reimburse for work done by others. If a plan has expired, we warranty our parts and labour for 90 days from the repair date.

6. Unavailable Parts

If a replacement part is no longer available or cannot be sourced at a commercially reasonable cost, we are not obligated to replace the equipment. Either party may terminate the plan in this case, with a refund of up to one year of payments (adjusted for prior service used).

7. What Is Not Covered

The following are excluded from coverage:

  • Equipment used for commercial purposes
  • Pre-existing defects or deficiencies at the time of enrollment
  • Damage from abuse, tampering, unauthorized repairs, accidents, fire, flood, lightning, freezing, or acts of God
  • Improper installation, sizing, or modifications not performed by us
  • Cosmetic damage, redecoration, or restoration costs
  • Consumable items such as filters and fuses
  • Equipment covered under a manufacturer's, builder's, or contractor's warranty
  • Hazardous materials including asbestos, lead, or refrigerant disposal
  • Spoiled food resulting from equipment or power failure
  • Building or zoning code violations — any required corrective work is your responsibility

8. Technician Safety

Our technicians may refuse entry to a property if animals, insects, unsanitary conditions, or unsafe access prevent them from working safely. In such cases, we reserve the right to cancel the plan without refund.

9. Changes to Terms

Bluenose Appliance Repair may update these terms, including pricing, with at least 30 days and no more than 90 days notice before your anniversary date. Changes take effect on the anniversary date.

10. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and applicable federal laws of Canada. This document, including any supplemental terms, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Bluenose Appliance Repair.
